An Open Letter to Everyone Who Told Me Two Kids Are Almost as Easy as One

Dear fellow parents,

Please inspect your pants. I believe careful examination will reveal that they are on fire.

Love,
Me

OHMIGOD, who told you that? as someone with four kids, I can say with absolute confidence that the jump from one to two was the HARDEST.

Hang in there. and fyi: The jump from two to three is easy and the jump from three to four? You have no brain left so nothing matters : )

Yikes.

And - what can we do to help?

I've heard two is more like having three (the third voice must be the on in your head screaming) Hang in there, I'm sure you'll find your groove soon :)

Yes, two can suck it, as far as I'm concerned. It feels five times as hard. It does get better though, three months is better than two and that was better than one!

Wait, what?

Oh, you're right.

They are on fire.

Psych!

Glad to see you back around these parts.

LM: For you, a rare emoticon. :P

BB: Two to three? Bwahahahaha! Congratulations! You actually made me laugh out loud.

Joanne: Your insight is much more reassuring than that offered to me by another friend. He told me that when his two kids turned three and six, everything got so much easier. Er, yeah, thanks for that.

I have been cursing pinocchio noses on those same liars. Glad to hear their pants are now on fire as well.

I've made it my personal mission in life to warn all pregnant women who already have one kid that they're about to wish they'd never been born. The moms. Babies are too cute to ever wish that on them. Particularly once they stop looking like scrunchy monkey-faced grandpas.

As the mother of three grown children I have to chime in! It was the most difficult going from one to two. Then two to three was a walk in the park --- I had experienced it all by then. But it is so wonderful having them close together --- but sadly they all grow up and leave at the same time!
