Watch That First Step. It's a Doozy.

"Limited by space, we melded the idea of a staircase with our client's desire for a library to form a 'library staircase' in which English oak stair treads and shelves are both completely lined with books."
Trust me. You NEED to see the rest of the photos of this feat of architectural genius.

Heh. I commented on the original AT post that what I love about these stairs is that they feed into two separate OCD areas for me: the need to horde books and the compulsion to walk up and down the stairs exactly the same way every time.

What can I say? I'm a work in progress.

I have been quietly checking in on your site for a while now and marvel at the variety of your offerings. And enjoy cackling over some of them. Oh and do I need that some days!

I breathed out verrrry slowly when I saw these bookstairs. As my 2-year-old would say: I NEED them.

These stairs are indeed teh awsom, but I worry that they would force me to shelve my books by size rather than by subject, which would trigger some of my OCD areas.

My girlfriend sent me the link to this story and I thought to myself who could I share this with that would appriciate it as much as I? Funny enough, I thought of you. But as usual, being the cutting edge that you are, you had been there and done that.
